GFT Open Water Swim

1.mile Open Water Swim

The Great Floridian Triathlon features a 1 mile Open Water Swim only event.  The swim  is a timed, accurately measured and well monitored open water swim event.  This is a great training event for triathletes racing a late season full distance triathlon! All participants receive a commemorative shirt and finisher medal!

Where:

Waterfront Park, Clermont, Florida. Clermont is centrally located just 22 miles west of Orlando at the junction of US 27 and SR 50. Major Orlando tourist attractions are only 30 minutes away and the ocean beaches are just an hour away. Orlando International Airport is 40 minutes southeast of Clermont.

Events:

1 Mile Swim:

The GFT Open Water Swim is a 1 mile, 1 lap course. This event is chip timed and is a great training event for triathletes race a late season full distance triathlon. 

Courses:

All GFT events share the same courses.  The 1 mile swim features a triangular shaped course with swimmers swimming counterclockwise.

Amenities:

A well executed event with great support and volunteers, chip timing with tracking, participant shirt, Saturday morning Breakfast of Champions, and great post race food,  All swimmers will receive a swim cap, participant shirt, and a super cool commemorative finisher medal.

Awards:

Custom Awards will be presented to the top five overall finishers and top masters finishers, male and female. 

Eligibility:

The right to accept or reject any entry is reserved. Please be aware that there is a 10:00am cut-off time associated with the swim.  This means you must complete the swim in 2:15:00 or less. Failure to meet cut-off times may result in disqualification. 

USAT:

The GFT Swim is sanctioned be USA Triathlon.  All participants must be a current member of USAT when registering or they will be required to purchase a one day license for $15.
