Great Floridian Multisport Relay Challenge
Swim 2.4 miles - Bike 112 miles - Run 26.2 miles

Gather your team and achieve something together that you may never be able to finish alone, a full ironman-distance triathlon! With the Great Floridian Triathlon’s two lap format for each discipline, it’s easy to divide and conquer the 140.6 mile course. Both the swim and bike segments have two laps, and the run course has four laps. A diiferent team member can complete each lap, or a team member can select to complete more than one segment lap. Each team must have a minimum of 3 members, with a maximum of 6 members. Team members will take turns completing the individual laps for each segment of the 140.6 mile course. Only one team member can be on the course at any given time. Think of this event as the Ragnar Relay of triathlon!
The base entry fee is based on the minimum team requirement of 3 team members per team. Additional team members, 4-6, are $50 each. You do not need to have all your team members finalized when you register, Once a person creates a team, they receive a unique link to send to other team members to register and up to four additional team members can now join the team for no additional charge unless they need to purchase a USAT license. Each additional team member past the original 3 can also register using the same link, but they will be charged the $50 additional team member fee plus USAT license fee if needed.
The Floridian Multisport Relay Teams will have a special transition area along with a designated location they can place team tents if desired. Awards will be presented to the top three teams.

When:
Saturday, October 21, 2023- 7:45am.
Where:
The World Triathlon Destination at Waterfront Park, Clermont, Florida. Clermont is centrally located just 22 miles west of Orlando at the junction of US 27 and SR 50. Major Orlando tourist attractions are only 30 minutes away and the ocean beaches are just an hour away. Orlando International Airport is 40 minutes southeast of Clermont.

Ultra Distance Multisport Challenge Relay:
With the Great Floridian Ultra Distance Multisport Challenge Relay, team members complete lap segments for the swim, bike and run. There are 2 swim segment, 2 bike segments, and 34 run seegments. Only one team member can be ont he course at a time. If you wish to have one athlete do the entire swim, another the entire bike, and another do the entire run, then you should register for the traditional format GFT Ultra Distance Relay.
Courses:
All GFT events share the same courses. The Ultra Distance Relay Teams complete two laps of the swim, two laps of the bike course, and 4 laps of the run course.
Swim: A triangular 1.2 mile course that you will swim twice. Swimmers will swim counter-clockwise, keeping all bouys on their left. At the end of the first lap swimmers will exit the water, cross over the swim finish timing mats, and then return to the water to start lap2. A water station wil be located in the chute before you start lap 2. Wetsuit use is in accordance with established USAT rules. The water temperature at this time of year can range form 76-80.
Bike: The bike course is a loop course and hilly by Florida standards. This year's bike course has been redesigned and has 1/3 less elevation change than in previous years. Athletes will complete two laps of the bike course. The first lap travels around Lake Minneola at the start and is 60 miles long. The second lap does not travel around Lake Minneola and is 52 miles long.
Run: The run course is a 4 lap out and back course on the scenic South Lake Trail. The course is flat and fast!

Amenities:
A well executed event with great support and volunteers, chip timing with tracking, participant shirt, Friday morning Breakfast of Champions, and great post race food, and s Sunday Awards Brunch for Ultra-distance Individual and Aquabike finishers. All Full GFT finishers will also receive a finisher shirt and super cool commemorative finisher medal.
Awards:
Custom Awards will be presented to the top three overall relay teams in the following categories; male, female, and mixed.
Eligibility:
The right to accept or reject any entry is reserved. Please be aware that there are several cut-off times during the event that all participants must adhere to. Failure to meet cut-off times may result in disqualification.
USAT: The Great Floridian Triathlon is sanctioned bu USA Triathlon and all established USAT Rules will be in effect.
